In today's economic climate, it is nice to know your total vacation cost before you leave home. All-inclusive resorts (and some all-inclusive cruises) include just about everything: your room, food, drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), entertainment, non-motorized water sports, taxes, and tips. Tours, items of a personal nature, spa services, and certain water sports are not included. All-inclusive ranges from 5-star deluxe properties with gorgeous suites, marble baths, in-room Jacuzzis, and multiple choices in dining (some with room service and a butler), or they can be basic properties with standard rooms offering dining in a limited number of restaurants. There are a wide variety of resorts and prices, and this is reflected in the food, drinks, service, and amenities offered. All-inclusive resorts are not for everybody but certainly make life easier.

That is a great question and it really depends on several factors including—who will you be traveling with, do you want an adult only hotel (very important in the summer or over a holiday), moderate or a deluxe resort, al a carte or buffet dining, distance from airport (important if you are staying a shorter time), are you a beach or pool person, do you golf or like a big spa or need a casino in the evening, do you want a large or smaller and more intimate resort, do you want a quiet place or a resort full of activities and lastly what is your budget?
