Anyone who knows us is well aware that Jamaica is one of our favorite Caribbean destinations and we have visited every city and stayed at most resorts on the island. Once again, we were so very pleased to discover that tourism on the island is on the increase and the resorts are upgrading and improving all the time.
Our first stop was a 3 night stay at Riu Palace Tropical Bay in Negril. We were there several years ago before it was upgraded to a Riu Palace and the improvements were many. The food, service and overall appearance are so much better than before. Of course, it’s Negril and the beach is positively beautiful. This is the perfect upscale all inclusive resort for couples, singles and families in Negril. Rooms are comfortable with a patio or balcony and limited room service.
We continued to Montego Bay (45 minute transfer) and checked in to the absolutely beautiful Iberostar Grand Rose Hall, adult only all-inclusive. The rooms are modern, spacious, large balconies/patios with a two person swing, loveseat and table. No problem finding a nice palapa on the beach (and the hotel was full!) With a large room service menu, the balcony was the perfect spot to enjoy morning breakfast and evening cocktails. The restaurants are varied and the food and service impeccable.
The small video casino on the property was fun (we even won $300)!
While very different resorts, they both share the same super friendly and caring service for which the Jamaicans are known.
We’ll always return to JAH!
